What we stand for

I opened Fluro’s doors in 2008, having worked my way up through creative agencies. My father ran agencies back in the day, so it’s in my blood. A degree of entrepreneurial spirit must have rubbed off.

It’s a cliché, I know, but this agency is genuinely all about the people. As a small team, it’s easy to upset the balance so we employ as much on personality and fit as well as skill set. There’s very little hierarchy here and definitely no politics. Just hardworking, accountable people, pulling together to get the job done.

Fluro’s growth and progression, its core of creativity and the challenge of new business keeps the fire burning bright. Our genuine ability to blow apart a business problem and then put it back together with a brave and extraordinary, creative solution puts a smile our clients' face and gets me out of bed in the morning.

I started out as a designer at the agency; back then, there were just three of us. My role has gradually evolved with the needs of the business. I always feel like I’m learning and expanding my skills here. That feeling of growth is really important to me.

I guess that embracing change is in my nature. I’m Swiss German originally and was raised in Spain where I went to an English-speaking school. I came over here to study Art and Design in Leeds as a student.

I thrive on being organised and at the heart of the action which makes the Studio Manager role pretty perfect. Constantly talking to people. Juggling deadlines and budgets. Keeping projects on track. When I’m not at work? I guess I like to take it easy: cycle, potter in the garden, be with the family. As a new mum, life never stands still, which suits me!

I began my career as a designer at Manchester United, and since then I've worked agency-side across print and digital, from full-scale campaigns to brand identities. While I started in design, my passion grew into art direction, especially within the B2B space, which has shaped much of my creative journey.

It’s exciting to be part of Fluro, a place where creativity is constantly pushed. Working alongside such talented people strengthens everything we do, and being in that kind of environment is something I deeply value. It doesn’t feel like “work” when you genuinely love what you do.

One quote that’s always stuck with me is from Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” That’s the lens I bring to everything.

Outside the studio, I channel creativity into DIY projects (inspired by questionable Instagram hacks), long walks, good coffee and a possibly unexplainable obsession with jacket potatoes.

With a background in design and over 15 years in the B2B agency world, I’ve always been drawn to work that blends creativity with strategy.

While I started out on the creative side, I quickly discovered how much I love the relationship side of client services, getting to know people, understanding their business challenges, and working together to bring great ideas to life. Fluro felt like the perfect fit from day one: a genuinely creative, down-to-earth team where ideas matter and people come first.

Outside the office, I’m a proud Somali cat mum, love spending time with my family, scouring car boot sales and auctions for hidden gems, and dreaming about my next holiday.

Any writer will tell you that in every great story, nothing happens by accident. Every creative choice you make must earn its place in the bigger picture. This is also true for any great piece of marketing, be it a lead gen campaign or a brand story.

I didn’t expect my background in journalism and storytelling to become so integral to my work here at Fluro. All those years spent finding the emotional heart of a story, learning how to create narrative tension and crafting the perfect headline was the ultimate training ground for my role here as a creative strategist.

Since joining Fluro, I’ve become passionate about strategy, nuance, and the impact of AI on our world. But in the end, it’s people that will always be the most interesting to me; I’ll never not be fascinated and humbled by the ingenuity of human beings.

I have a BA in Communications and I’ve got experience on everything from SEO content and web development to video production and brand awareness campaigns. When I’m not at work, you might find me in the garden or out for a run, but I seem to spend most of my time making salad.

I’ve worked on loads of interesting projects since I’ve been here. What really satisfies me is that although my role is client-facing, I still get a chance to put my creative mark on things. When a big new project comes in, we often have an all-hands agency brainstorm so we get to generate ideas together and be creatively hands-on.

I have a Fine Arts Degree and used to sculpt and do ceramics. Art is still an important part of who I am and I enjoy lino-printing at home. In fact, we’ve just built an art shed at the bottom of the garden to give us some space.

I’m done with big cities. Living and working where I do and going out running with our Basenji hound Ludo: that does it for me.
